Heineken’s Walk-In Fridge (2010)

A popular advert during the 2010 World Cup, this offering from Heineken was a clap back to Carlsberg’s advert – a major rival of theirs – and by the reaction of many, it came out victorious.

Coca-Cola’s Rivalries (2006)

A rather charming and sweet animated advert by Coca-Cola for the 2006 World Cup, ‘rivalries’ shows how we can overcome all differences for the beautiful game (even cheating wives, apparently)!

Nike’s Write the Future (2010)

Featuring Ronaldo, Drogba, Rooney, Ribery and Ronaldinho, to name but a few, this 3 minute epic lasted the entire ad break and was an instant hit. Fat-bellied, trailer-living, full-bearded Wayne Rooney was a personal highlight.

Carlsberg’s Old Lions (2006)

This charming Carlsberg ad from the 2006 World Cup features some of England’s all-time greats, including Shilton, Robson and Pearce. The advert shows the ‘old lions’ offering up a master class to a Sunday league team, and ending with ‘Carlsberg don’t do pub teams. But if they did, they’ve probably be the best pub team in the world’.
